Well, it seems as if Dead Island developer Techland knows a good thing when it sees it. As no sooner had it announced Hellraid, a very Dead Islandy-looking game set in a medieval fantasy world, it's now confirmed that it's also working on the very Dead Islandy-looking Dying Light. Someone pass us a crowbar.

All this Xbox One stuff is starting to do our head in. We’re starting to long for simpler times, so we’re pleased as punch that we can now bugger about with a Blood Dragon-themed level editor for Far Cry 3 and build some awesome Eighties adventures!

The Xbox One is official, it’s mostly awesome and it’s launching this year with games like Forza 5 and a Kinect that actually works. That’s the good news. But the news about things like backwards-compatibility isn’t quite so good…

Yep, we're going to have to get used to calling ourselves 'One' gamers, as Microsoft has announced it's next-gen console with the name Xbox One and a worldwide release date of 2013. There were no real shocks and a lot of things not discussed (always-on, second-hand etc) but at least MS managed to squeeze a few games in among all the TV talk and get us just a little bit enthused.

We don't usually pay a great deal of attention to Kickstarter campaigns, as there seem to be far too many to count these days, and quite often they're either fantasy wish-lists that aren't going to happen or games that need ideas as well as money. But when it comes to a return of Syndicate - and we're talking the 1996 sequel Syndicate Wars here, not the half-decent but still disappointing FPS from last year - we're all ears.
