Sensible Soccer. So much fun and online play is awesome too!
i think the pinball is great and now i have just got gripshift which is excellent value for money and good to play too
Lukemon@Gamer Wrote:Rez HD is indeed awesome (but way harder than the original if you notice...) and I too really enjoyed Pac-Man CE – a really nice original take on the simplest of concepts and works wonderfully for it.

Puzzle Quest is well worth a look if you're into your puzzle games (although in this case with a really strong RPG backbone). Came out on PSP and now Wii and DS as a normal-priced game so 800 MS points is a freaking bargain. Bomberman Live is more or less essential stuff too.

Aside from them you've got Wik, which is one of the few hidden gems that I love to recommend, but there are also the likes of Boom Boom Rocket and Omega Five that are at least worth checking out. Boogie Bunnies is my current guilty pleasure, although it gets hard pretty quickly...

Yeah I picked up the Live Unplugged Collection well before I got on Live and I really enjoyed playing through Wik. Shame no-one has really heard of it, let alone owns it.

I've played the Demos of BBR and Omega Five and I'll be looking to purchase them next time I get a points card. I also really enjoyed the demo of Super Puzzle Fighter II as well.
Gotta be worms. I'm old, the first games i got from live were golden axe and tmnt89 arcade! Not the best games perhaps (actually make that definately not) but they were fun when I was a kid and still enjoy them now. Streets Of Rage 2 will be downloaded as soon as my 360 returns from the menders!
My experience with forums always taught me it's better to bring up an old thread if it's relevant rather than make an entirely new one, so I made use of the search function. If I'm wrong then feel free to smite me! Who knows, maybe you'll find an old forgotten gem from reading through this? It's nice to see how the titles have really come on since back then, with fully-fledged games rather than simple ports and remakes.

Anyway, thought I'd chip in. My favourite XBLA games are quite varied.

-Bastion was good for it's solid combat and I loved all the different weapons and upgrades. Picked it up when it was on sale and I'd advise doing so!

-Outland looks simply stunning and it plays really well. A interesting mix between Ikaruga and the old 2D Metroid/Castlevania games that's well worth picking up.

-Peggle. I'm sure most of you know about Peggle. Very addictive, I always planned on 'just one more' level and then the next thing I knew an hour had passed!

-Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. I've actually only played the demo and a bit more at a friend's house, but I keep meaning to download it. I really enjoyed what I played. A nice new spin on the series.

-Toy Soldiers/Defense Grid/Plants vs Zombies/Dungeon Defenders. I'm a huge tower defense fan, thanks to all those years playing custom Warcraft 3 maps!
Toy Soldiers is very polished and is probably dirt cheap now. I love the idea of taking over your own towers.
Defense Grid is fast and with many towers and many levels there's a lot to it. Very challenging later on too and very strategic. Also probably available for very little now.
Plants vs Zombies is such a simple game but so addictive and the concept is hilarious.
Dungeon Defenders is a pretty new game but apparently reached 1 million sales a couple of days ago. I love being able to control your own hero who can be upgraded and do damage as well. The loot system is great and the game looks great. Multiplayer is a must, though.

There's more undoubtedly. I'd recommend picking up any of these or at least the demos to try them out! What are your favourite Arcade games now?
Indeed, dredging up old threads is usually a good idea.

I know that we've got some fans of Lara Croft GOL on here, I really liked Outland... but I've been stuck/distracted by other games, so I haven't played it much... I'll probably re-download it when I stick a new HDD in my PS3.

Also, I don't think that I have said Welcome to you, so...

Welcome to the forum!

Made me think this was from last week not 2008..... Smile
Top shout there Chris with Lara Croft.

Guardian Of Light is, for me, the best Arcade game out there, and once you play through in co-op, an unforgettable experience, especially with just how much fun you can have.

If only they made Tomb Raider games like that from here on in.
I still haven't finished the damned thing. I started playing it with my eldest but we haven't booted it up in ages.

It's half term now, so I plan on finishing it once and for all.
Couple of recommendations from me:

Daytona and OutRun are well worth a look if you're down with Sega's style of arcade games. Despite the fact I gave both eights.

BoomBoom Rocket's always good.

And despite its simplicity, I still keep returning to Bankshot Billiards.
