I traded in Euro 2008 for FIFA 09, played it for two weeks then took it back and bought Euro 2008 back.
i played fifa 09 and while its a good game, its not as fun as euro 08. the latter game is a little slower and you get more chances at goal, and this makes it more exciting. also when you play against the computer the games are more exciting, whereas in Fifa09 they seem to be a dull affair, less shots on goal, bogged down in mid field and the AI doesnt seem to score. In Euro 08 the AI score even as low as semi pro. basically its much more fun. The challenge mode in Euro are really good too. the improvements cliamed by EA, in my opinion made the game dull. At the end of the day a game has to be fun or its not a game
Fair play. I've finally migrated from PES to FIFA (although I'm sticking with the PES controls...) and am loving it, even more so than when I reviewed it. I kinda know what you mean about playing the AI, although my main focus with any footy game is multiplayer - it's been that way since Sensi and it ain't gonna change now.
Yeah, I have stuck with PES controls. Only really play friends or ranked matches. Pretty good too, if I saw so myself.
and having played football and football games for years, Euro 2008 is easily the best one so far. perhaps if EA (and konami) spent lesss time on putting loads of teams in, and more time on the game then they would get better still. lets face it how many teams does anyone use when playing them? 32 teams for a game is quite enough. they could even have others available as a download if you really wanted a new one.
