I've just managed to get on Live.. (well impressed) and have a one query if anyone can help.
I have over 7000 gamer points and i thought it was these that you used to purchase DLC.
My profile says I have these GPs but when I go to buy something I see that I have none to spend!
Have I totally missed the point here?
Any help would be appreciated.

They are for show, its shpw's your Achievements for all those game's you played. It would be a good idea tho spending you your achievements score.

you can't spend achievement points. they are for players to judge their prowess at gaming, or the lack of life they have (Harrier ;-)) and how much time they spend playing games.
MS points are like gift vouchers, you have to exchange hard cash into these points so that you can then purchase items from live.
What this means is every time you buy something from live it's difficult to work out how much it really costs.
I thought that was the case too when i first heard of the gamerscore/points thing, so don't feel too dumb of being so easily confused.
Would be great though.
i've always thought that it would be a great ting indeed for a small number of points to be credited to your account if you completed 100% of a games achievements, at least that way, you're [play is genuinely rewarded and it'd mean the end of easy and lazy achievements
I have much more gamerscore than Dredd.
