I have no doubt that games programmers work hard with play testers to eliminate glitches and bugs, but as games get bigger and bigger it must get virtually impossible to make a 'perfect' piece of software.
Sometimes these glitches are the cause of many angry multiplayer games as some players utilise loopholes in the game engine to gain an advantage.
But this thread is not about that.
This is about the more amusing glitches. Graphical or gameplay farts that fascinate or maybe make you laugh.
I have two to start.
I was playing Battlefield 1943 (you know... for a change) and I suddenly noticed a mysterious black box floating in the air. As I moved it disappeared and reappeared and it was visible even through walls.
I've noticed it a couple more times since and it always seems to be hovering above where vehicles would spawn. I can only assume it's a place-holder for the vehicles and should be invisible, but for some reason every now and again it appears. I even saw it painted with tank textures yesterday.
Weird.
The other one was Fallout 3.
I found on a few occasions that if you fast travelled to an area where you had destroyed any robots, said robots had a tendency to fire hundreds of feet in the air.
Not always fast travel either. I stepped out of a building once and the two Protectrons I had destroyed either side of the door suddenly blasted off and disappeared over the horizon! It was amazing!
