MASS EFFECT 2 - READER REVIEW BY SWIIRE / IAN WOLFE
The game begins with a dark and graphic attack on the Normandy, which temporarily kills Shepard. He's brought back by Cerberus, who've also kindly built the Normandy V2. This Normandy sadly doesn't have the joyously fun Mako car from ME1, but it makes up for it. Travel is vastly improved, and planets can now be scanned for minerals and anomalies. This curiously fascinating activity can often take more of your time than the actual fighting.
The gameplay this time round feels much more fluid and dynamic. The class-based combat system works wonderfully, and new augmentations to weapons add an extra twist.
On your side, you've got a team comprised of some familiar faces, and some new ones. Almost every character has a winding backstory, and every one feels important and essential to the storyline
Overall, Mass Effect 2 is quite possibly the greatest game I've ever played. BioWare listened to fans and the game shows it. The plot is cinematic and adapts to your decisions, and there's a huge number of sidequests to accompany the gripping main storyline. Combat has stepped up a notch, and everything in the game feels like it's been lovingly crafted to be everything the player could possibly want.
MY RATING:
10
A sophisticated and cinematic gameplay experience which is genuinely flawless.

It's been a while since I did one of these. The word limit kept tripping me up, but I thiiiink I've cut it down enough. Feel free to take out a sentence if it goes over.
