Procrastinating the other night on the dashboard I decided to have a check out of the Indie Games section, something I rarely take the time do do given the wealth of shite you get there, but I decided to check out all the top rated ones.

Among the usual zombie dross and minecraft clones, there was a game called Little Racers STREET. Checked it out and it's basically a micro machines clone, but not running around a kids playroom track kind of thing.

Just had a go on it, and I have to say, I was BLOWN. THE. FUCK. AWAY !!

As a very disillusioned racer given my experience with forza 4, it was an absolute joy to play a racing game that was FUN. I was giggling when I was playing it, THAT'S how much fun I was having. remember when you used to have fun playing games ? This gives you that back !!!!

I couldn't believe it ! And it's only 80 points !!!

I was going to buy Blur the other day to spark up my racing desires but in a more fun way, and I'm glad I played Little Racers STREET first, it just saved me a tenner !!

So if y'all have the time, and the inclination, head to the Indie marketplace and give it a bash and see if you don;t end up smiling. It's so reasonably priced there's no excuse not to buy it, and the online races support 12 players !

Blur wasn't very good really. Had very iffy handling.

Yeah, Blur was a weird one. The vision behind it was interesting enough, but a fair bit of it seemed to get lost in the execution.

I think that had it been given a sequel, that sequel would have been a much tighter, better balanced game. Although it would probably have sold just as poorly.

Still, Micromachines, eh? Might be worth a look.

looking at the pictures, it looks like one of the arcade machines on the game "bully" that had a racer that looks like this type of thing. enjoyable for ten mins then tedious. online would probably be better?

Tried it, its not as good as Forza.

I checked this out and, yes, it's a nice little game. Strap some weapons on those cars and you'd almost have Super Cars 2 on the Atari ST.

May well pick it up at some point.

It could be good online. I worry about miserable Scottish c*nts complaining about driving standards tho - those things don't stick to the road too well.

Weapons on cars...thats my type of driving skill...i will download a demo today.....

It doesn't have weapons, sample was just being old I looked at some of their other stuff after trying the demo, and it seems "Street" is the second Little Racers game. From the looks of the screenshots, Little Racers (1?) was quite blatantly Super Sprint. Even down to track designs!

I dont think you can download demos of indie games, probably better to find a video on youtube....but at 80pts you cant really complain if its shit, better than buying a new dashboard theme.
