GAME: Gears Of war (yeah I know got it two days early)

THE REVIEW: Well I managed to bag my copy TWO days early, so got some serious one player action last night. First impressions I was AMAZED, as were people on my friends list who kept sending me rude messages, as I had GOW already. A good tip I received from Clown X of Box was to use the VGA cable. This allows you to have the correct resolution for your TV giving you a better image. (Note your dashboard will appear more “washed-out” but games are much sharper.) So GOW looked fantastic and really lives up to the hype it has received. Game play is really intensive and you are pulled right into the game. It truly gripped me more that ANY SINGLE PLAYER has before. The motion of the character is so fluid, the dives and roles into cover really make you feel like its you in the war. You are able to do what you think you should be able to, diving behind cover James bond style and hiding by the door entrance and switching from one side to the next, all with one easy press of the A button. Then when you’re trapped behind cover, a short burst of blind cover fire and your team mates come you your aid. Also the healing of team mates worked great, the mad dash to aid a downed team member caught under fire really being our the inner hero. As I said I never ventured online, but I can already see with the AI on the single player team mates this is going to ROCK on live.

360 GAMER READER VERDICT: Easily the best 1st person shooter I have ever played. GOW will be the bench mark for all future games. There was no learing curve to the controls, it was truly pick up and play. At last we have a game that is visually stunning and is back by easy controls and superb gameplay

Football with the dead bodies.
MINUS
Damage to walls etc vanishes.
No movement in the water in the puddles, (even when you walk through them)
Even on Max the speech levels are quiet.

Meh - I'm not overly impressed on the Multiplayer side...More than 2 player co-op would be better and more game-modes. I don't know, it lacks a certain playablilty for me. Don't get me wrong, graphics, sound and everything is excellent, superb, but it does seems a little lacking on the online side...

Like i said ages ago Graphics dont make a good game and i had a feeling this game would not live up to the hype loads of peeps are dissapointed.I wont be buying this untill i see it in a bargain bin in game,i just dont fancy it

Online is OK but for me it lacks a certain something.
It also lacks a diversity in Game-Modes...

Hmmm....In my opinion, not really. There is so much more to GRAW Online than Gears of War. However, in GRAW you can't slash people in half with chainsaws..Still, if it were my choice, I'd stick with GRAW.
