HD DVD
Sorry if this is a repeat thread, (can't find one), but has anyone got the HD drive? I am tempted by it but it looks more and more likely that blu-ray will win the format war. What are your impressions of the add-on drive?

Re: HD DVD
To be honest I havn't taken much notice of either HD-DVD Or Blu-Ray - I'm perfectly fine with DVD.
I would wait until one or the other has won "the format war" and pick one up when prices have gone down. Apparently the add-on for the 360 (HD-DVD) is great, so if your a serious movie buff then maybe its worth a purchase, but I think most people are saving their money at the moment.

Re: HD DVD
I have the HD-DVD drive, and it is really good.
Wasn't convinced I would see too much diference, but after taking my 360 to my parents house and playing on standard definition tv for a bit I though I would take the chance! I decided to get one now because they are not region coded yet, and I think they will be soon. The picture is great - I dont know about as big a step as from video to DVD, but close. Seems to be a few more extras on some disks, but not enough to worry me. I only have a few films, but after comparing Serenity with the dvd of it, you can really see a difference. The whole 'war' thing does not make much difference to me. Any films I get now will still be able to be used after all! I expect to get a PS3 at some point anyway, when there is something worth playing on it and the price comes down. I have never been bothered by the 'my console os better than yours' thing - surely its about the games, not the machine! I guess if you like films, and have the spare cash, go for it.
