The end of fanboys?
After reading through various forums and magazines for the different consoles, I have seen a definite drop in the number of 'fanboy' comments.
Many people have grown up with games now, and seem to be growing into my opinion that its about the GAMES, not the machine that plays them! I currently own a 360 and a Wii, and will be getting a PS3 when the price is more in line with what its worth to me - and there are games I need it to play. I have never focused on any 1 brand to the exclusion of the rest, Nintendo and Sega have both had my trade over the years while they were the main players. I'm sure many people have a favorite, but come on, does anyone really care now? I do see a problem arising with PS3/ 360 conflict though - Achievements! I like them as well as the next player, and for preference will pick up a 360 title for them, but if Sony's 'home' works as it sounds, I will also want some of those little models in my virtual house! Could get expensive and boring having to play the same game twice to get the awards for both formats! I know it will never happen, but how nice would it be to have the consoles linked? apaert from achievements, it would be great to have a joint friends list - seeing someone on my 360 friends list was playing their PS3... if it has been done with messenger.... So does anyone agree? are the days of the fanboy marked? Are there still people who shun a brand, except for financial issues?
