Hey, where's my Arcade Games???
Last week me and 3 friends did a “Kitt” and rented ourselves a cottage to spend a little quality time together, get some fresh air, and rock-out to Rock Band without waking the neighbours.

I strapped my drum-kit to the roof of the car and set off. I only took Rock Band and Fifa because I didn’t want to be anti-social and waste my weekend away. I also thought I have 35 arcade games to keep going if things got quiet, especially as I’m getting pretty addicted to Zuma!

The first night passes and the wife heads to bed early after a lengthy drive and I fancy a bit of Zuma, so I load up my 360 and what do I find?? 5 Arcade games. WHAT?!?! Where are the other 30! (Is a pre-watershed version of what I yelled at the TV).
Apparently I could play Aegis Wing, Fable 2 Pub Games, Hexic, Wits & Wagers and Yaris to my heart’s content, but if I wanted to play the other 30 I’d have to unlock the full games. I’d already paid for and unlocked these games, but just because my internet connection is 150 miles away, I can’t play these games! What a jip!!! Ironically, 2 of the games I could play were US-exclusive downloads – I wonder if they have this problem?

To then add insult to injury we all played Rock Band the next night and although most of my downloaded tracks were there to be played, about 10 downloaded songs were listed but wouldn’t load and caused the game to crash and more annoying still, my recently purchased Foo Fighters album was nowhere to be found!

Now as I see it, digital downloads are seen as the future of gaming. I’m all for it, and the instant purchases combined with cheaper games due to a reduction in production costs can only be good. But if I pay to download something, I want to be able to play it wherever I am! I wouldn’t buy a DVD that snapped in half as soon as I took it out of my house, so for MS to store the licence for their games online so that you have to stay online to keep playing an XBLA title seems scandalous.

Yeah it's a pain in the arse - basically they're punishing the legal downloaders.

However, I used this - works a treat.

RE: Hey, where's my Arcade Games???
right, so my arcade games now work when i'm offline, but bizarrely two of my games have worked throughout all 3 of my xboxs, Aegis Wing and Yaris.

Now these are American exclusive games, so am i right in thinking the Americans dont have the same problem as we do with stupid licences as we do???

Seems unfair to me.... bastards.....

RE: Hey, where's my Arcade Games???
they way i read it mate you can only re-download all your licences once a year, so if youre getting your elite in the next 12 months i'd leave it.

You can do multiple consoles at once though as i had licences on 3 consoles and now they're all on my 3rd machine, so you should be able to take your previous 2 and get them on your elite.
