Getting to know you....
OK peeps, it's been a slow few days on the site, and I'm just sitting here looking at old threads, so it's time for a new one to mull over me-thinks.
The name of the game is simple, just answer the questions, and we'll all know each other that little bit better. Oh and please, no extraneous posts on this one fellas, if everyone would just take a turn at replying, it'll make this thread a whole lot easier to read for the rest of us. Cheers darlings. Name *whisper* Paul Age - 28 Gaming since... - I'd say around 1986/7 ish. Gaming heritage - First gaming experience was on the Spectrum +2, Nifty Lifty kicked ass, programming in BASIC didn't. Moved on to the humble NES which did me for a long time, way past the SNES era (my folks didn't wanna fork out the 200 squid for a SNES - cheapskates). A constantly renewed gameboy collection started in this period too. I'd been a Nintendo fanboy for some years, so naturally in 1997 I bought myself a lovely N64 with the money from my first job, and spent all of my money earned for the next year and a half on any new game that came out. I then moved onto the GameCube, where my fanboy-ism lessened, and I realised to be properly adept and unbiased about gaming, I'd need a PSone. So i got one. After that I had 2 Playstation 2's, but the GameCube remained my favourite. Then in 2001 I bought an Xbox. Mario could go fuck himself. I got Xbox LIVE during the test drive over 5 years ago, and haven't looked back since. The wife upgraded me to a 360 in 2005 (you fool) and my whole videogaming nirvana has just been on a constant high since. Oh, also tried out a Wii for 4 months. Didn't like it. Your favourite type of game - Usually I'd say racing, but I'd also opt for a fun pick up and play FPS. You will mostly find me playing - Fallout 3 or COD4. I will hump the living shite out of you on - Any racing game. Don't even test me. I will annihilate you. You will best me on - Any fighting game. It's seriously embarrassing. The wife raped me on tekken once and I couldn't take it. Fucking Nina Williams.... As a gamer, I am - All about having fun. Whilst at the same time, ultra competitive. I like playing games with others who play games well, and while I'm not averse to playing with someone of lesser skill, I don't get as much out of it, so really, I prefer not to. It would appear I'm also quite selfish But be in no doubt, when you game with me, unlikely as that may be thanks to the wife and kids, you'll get a fucking decent game in return. Guys, it's over to you.

Age - 29 Gaming since... - 86 (ish) Gaming heritage - It all started with an Acorn Electron! Moved onto a C64, then NES (TMNT on the NES still ranks highly in my nostalgia chart!), Mega Drive, Saturn, PS1, PS2, Xbox and Xbox 360. Have also had a Game Boy Advance and PSP Your favourite type of game - Probably racing. You will mostly find me playing - Fallout 3 has recently taken over my life! I will hump the living shite out of you on - Probably not much to be fair. I'm a very lazy gamer and rarely dedicate myself to getting good at anything! Maybe, MAYBE Forza 2. You will best me on - Anything! As a gamer, I am - Easy going and up for a laugh/fun. Never take anything too seriously. ![]()

Name Mark
Age - 33 Gaming since... - 83 (ish) Gaming heritage - The thing that got be started was playing Pong, I was hooked on Pong for ages. Living as part of a one parent family we couldn't afford any consoles, so I used to play on my cousins Amstrad (green screen). Then he got a Sinclair ZX spectrum were I used play a lot of pitfall. After that I managed to get my hands on a second hand C64 (I used to love Kickstart), then I had and Amiga, Megadrive, Snes, PS1, PS2, and then Xbox. I now have a 360, PS3, Wii, DS and PSP. Oh and I still have Pong. Your favourite type of game - RPG but I do like a bit of everything. You will mostly find me playing - Gears 2 and Fallout 3 when I finally unwrap it. I will hump the living shite out of you on - nothing unless you let me beat you. You will best me on - most things and especially shooters like Gears, though I am finding it easier to play than the first one. As a gamer, I am - easy to play with as you will probably beat me at everything but I am more out for a laugh and a joke and to meet new people. ![]()

Age 28 Gaming Since Early 80's Gaming Heritage My first memories of gaming is playing my sisters BBC Acorn I remember playing YI-OH-KUNG-FU I thought it was the best thing I had even seen played it again recently it was crap. Also used to play my brothers Atari VCR it had a lovely wooden covering it was a real piece of classy kit. Why dont Sony or Microsoft make a console out of wood? One of my other early systems was a Vectrex which you used to put a plastic screen on the front depending on the game you were playing. Iam told its worth a few bob now but also recently found out that my dad flogged it at a car boot sale. From my siblings computers my first console was the Atari 2600 which was the same as the VCR but without the nice wood then onto a Commodore 64 which was great as the games were mostly £3.99 then onto a Snes which was a shock as the games were mostly £50 but from that day onwards I was a Nintendo fanboy. Snes to Nintendo 64 and Ps1 eventually also picked up a Sega Saturn near the end of its life. Then onto Dreamcast, Ps2, Gamecube and eventually a xbox. Which brings as too now where I currently have a 360 and a Wii. Out of those systems the ones I have the fondest memories of are the C64, Snes and the Nintendo 64 Favourite type of game Changes with the years used to be a long RPG but as I have less time nowadays would have to be sports. Find me mostly playing Nothing at the moment hopefully Left 4 Dead and Fallout after Chirstmas. I will Hump/Lump! the living Shit out of you on Pes 06 I was once in the top 100 in the world and of those 100 only about 20 or so were legit. Goldeneye on the 64 You will beat me on Any fighting game expect Killer instinct. As a gamer i'm Bored.

Age 32 Gaming Since Early 80's, when C64's were released Gaming Heritage Had a C64 pretty much at release, badgered mum and dad into it. My brother used the Educational line with them. Early games were dickies diamonds, manic miner etc. Later on we got who dares wins and Green Beret (about the same time pappa don't preach was released by madonna (very long time ago) Later on I loved match day 1 and 2, plus footballer of the year. The first football manager, was also awsome. Later hits came from the likes of microprose with Microprose Soccer (the other side of the cassette was indoor USA 5-a-side genius) and airborne ranger, mighty bombjack and creatures. Creatures possibly my fave ever C64 game. Then I got a master system -> megadrive -> PC 486 -> then really got into the N64 in 1997. There were some great games on that little fella, but Zelda Ocarina of time possibly my favourite ever. Then I got a PS2, and loved PES, and the first GTAiii, plus Tiger 04 I think it was. The others were ok, but they are the three games that really stand out for me, and I bought the first two at the same time as the console. Then the PS2 died, after about 5 years I had a couple of months with no console and then a mate at work convinced me to buy a 360, for PES6, since the PS3 was a long way off. So I did. PES 6 got a bit of a hammering but I thought it was good, altho a bit shakey online at first. But when I first played live, I was amazed. It's brilliant. 2 years later and 2 more PES's later 6 is still the best PES on 360, but FIFA 09 is now better. I love the FPS's last two fifas, top spins, grid, fight night, 3ps's. I rate the 360 and online as high as the N64. Currently I'm battling with re-doing gears2, trying to like cod 5 (am I the only person who liked 3?) and fifa09, plus the occasional GHii. Favourite type of game Zelda Ocarina of Time. Not sure what that game counts as? FPS's and sports. Oh yeah and champ 2 on the 486 (1 hour to close and start a season!!), and the N64 (GEye, and ISS98) are reasons why I got a naff degree. Find me mostly playing FiFA 09 at the mo. I will Hump/Lump! the living Shit out of you on Pes 06 and if i don't I'll have an attractive style of play :-) I used to be mean on barbarian on the c64, and IK+ You will beat me on FPS's everyone can aim much quicker than me. As a gamer i'm Laid back as in life, but competitive. Hated those who always played with Adriano on PES 6 tho, really got on my teets. ![]()

RE: Getting to know you....
Name: Go on, have a guess...
Age: 29 Gaming since: the mid ’80s (VIC 20) Gaming heritage: I won’t bore you with my full gaming history, so I’ll just pick out a few memorable consoles… Favourite ‘2D era’ console: the SNES, due in no small part to Street Fighter II, Mario World and F-Zero. Favourite console of all time: the Saturn. I loved the arcade scene in the mid ’90s, and the Saturn was the quintessential arcade gamer’s console. I absolutely adore that machine – which is why I have three of them. Favourite handheld: close call between the GBA, the NGPC and the original Game Boy. I’d probably go for the GBA, by a whisker. Most obscure console owned: a BSS 01, which was the only actual games console ever to come out the German Democratic Republic (aka socialist East Germany). And much like everything that came out of the GDR in the ’80s, it was outdated and rubbish. Favourite type of game: Racing games, although I do enjoy my beat-’em-ups, light gun games, platformers and RPGs as well. Find me most likely playing: PGR4 or VF5, or Banjo N&B, LBP or Saints Row 2 at the moment. I will Hump/Lump! the living Shit out of you on: Nothing, probably. I can’t remember the last time I played something online. You will beat me on: See above As a gamer I’m: Not playing Gears of War 2. So I wish people would stop bombarding me with invites for it… ![]() ![]() |
