I think Hodgson is planning on playing Cole in the role just behind Torres which probably is his best position. This could work as well because Gerrard is more effective when he is running at the box from deep, And also what we really missed last season was Xabi Alonso spraying the ball about from a deeper position and the only player we have who can pass the ball remotely close to what Alonso could is Gerrard.

I have just found out aswell we have just signed Raul Meireles, I'm not quite sure how he will fit in though.

He had a good world cup. Could be as good as Mascherano, I'd say he has more goals in him. Lets wait and see...

Hope your right fil as we can't keep relying on Torres and Gerrard to score the goals we need others to chip in as well.
