I brought Dead Island about a month after release cause my mate kept going on about it, he was about 12 hours into the game when i started playing. anyway started the game for the 1st time and he joined my game and ran around trying to get me where he was opening up everything... missions, locations even exiting cut sceens... i didn't know what was going on and it completely ruined it for me.
might have to re-buy it if its still £20

That was my worry when joining online games.

I think if someone is joining your game, they play where you are in terms of the game, which could be 5 chapters previous, but they bring their own character level and weapons and skill perks etc.

There's an option in the online section where you can set it so enemy difficulty is tailored to your own level, so if you join a level 30 guy and you're only at level 1, the enemies you both encounter will present a challenge to both of you, rather than be enemies the higher levelled up player can wipe out easily.

I've yet to try that out with any huge gulf in levels between players as the random matches I've been in, the other players have never been more than one or two levels away from me.

And I can imagine the game was ruined for you, there's no fear in going about with someone who knows what's round the next corner. The probing, fearful exploration is one of the things that make the game for me.

well still not bothered I chipped this in on ebay, but have in last 24h started fallout3 again, I still think I'll be better for it this time around and am looking forwards to taking my time then playing the 4 or 5 DLC packs that I haven't ever touched.

I have a better comprehension of how I want to start out as a character, all lock picking and hiding and small guns n that.

Then as I get towards level 20 or even 30 branch out to the big weapons and explosives.


Im in far less of a rush now. Think I'll like it more.

I started this the other night in Co-op with Trev and it is a fantastic game although I do have one question, How do you use the thumb sticks for fighting?

It only seemed to let use the right trigger button.
