New thread idea - one that's dedicated to all those random/small/weird annoying things about games that don't deserve their own thread, but just need to be said anyway.

So to kick things off: The way please-charge-me flashing light thing comes on on the 360 controller when the battery pack just dips under half-full.

If that happened when it was 10% full or even a quarter full, I'd be okay with it. But half full is taking the piss a bit.

An official 360 battery pack can hold about 25 hours of juice. Which means you've still got over 12 hours left when the light starts flashing. That's more than a week's worth of gaming for me - a week I'd preferably not spend trying to ignore the flashing green lights at the bottom of my field of vision while I concentrate on the screen.

haha...excellent thread...my gripe is the way..every time i put a new game in(well from my collection)..im asked do i want a (enter amount)MB update for my game...then it say's ''Warning you will be disconected from xbox live if YOU DO NOT ACCEPT''...p.s we will also come round & burn your house down..

i love the freedom of choice m$ give me...

And surely that flashing business doesn't help the battery life?

Ditto, plus it should say in the side box what the download is for, no matter how big and small

That is one of the things that annoys me as well, Especially when it is EA doing a two gig update to rectify the mistakes they made with the 1.5 gig update that we all had to download a couple of days earlier.

I assume not. And unfortunately I have to say "assume", because it gets so annoying that I normally end up plugging in the charge cable within half an hour of the flashing starting. So I don't know how badly the flashing affects battery life.

Come to think of it, I think rechargeable batteries can only be recharged a certain number of times. In which case it's probably helping MS sell 50-100% more battery packs than it otherwise would.

I don't like it when a thing the size of Wales pops up onscreen during gameplay to tell me a friend is online. It always seems to happen during a point of high concentration and always seems to block out the most important thing on the screen at that moment in time - then takes an age to disappear cos you're staring at it willing it to get out of the way.

A teeny tiny icon in one of the corners would be much nicer.

Podders, the 3rd party ones last even less. I've had MS ones last years, 3rd party months only.

Boris, when that name icon and sound used to come on on PES 6 it used to lag even the solo player game, but I think that says more about Konami than MS.

It falls more under the 'random annoyances' than anything but; I've been having trouble with my 360s not recognising my HDD. Don't know if anyone else has had this before but it eventually rights it's self if you start it up enough times (usually 3-4). It sounds pretty meh, but it's actually verry annoying, especially when it decides to be a stinking bitch and take 10+ restart's 'till it eventually recognises the HDD. With each restart taking 2-3 mins I can be sat there for 20mins trying to get the bugger going, it's mental.

I also find it annoying when they release DLC and decide to add it to your cheevo list, even if you've not downloaded the DLC.
