Microsoft has now confirmed that every single copy of Crackdown from the initial shipment will contain a Halo 3 beta code.
Previously people were under the impression that bagging a copy of Crackdown containing a code would be something of a golden ticket style lottery, until this packshot came along and at least gave people something to look for.
Following on from this, rumours started to circulate suggesting that every copy Crackdown would contain a code. Which is sort of inaccurate, as it wouldn’t make much sense to put a code in every copy ever – what about copies shipped after the Halo 3 beta has happened?
No, the truth is every copy from the first batch will have a Halo 3 beta entry code, meaning that if you scurry down to the shops and buy Crackdown in its opening week, then you WILL be able to take part in the spring testing of Halo 3.
And given this new level of confidence, many gamers not necessarily that interested in Crackdown will buy it for the Halo 3 beta, making the likelihood that Crackdown will debut at number one in the charts something of a certainty, which, if we’re honest, we don’t think it would’ve been otherwise…
