Sega might be about to launch a dedicated Twin Stick controller for its forthcoming mech brawler, Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram. Or not. Possibly.
The developers of the game have been discussing a mystery controller on the game’s official blog (as translated by Silicon Era). The developers talk of key assignments and manufacturing costs, which they suggest may be prohibitively expensive. Make of that what you will.
In the arcades, both Virtual On and its sequel, Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram, used twin stick controllers, and similar peripherals were released for the respective Saturn and Dreamcast conversions.
Such controllers have traditionally been expensive and had very little application outside of Virtual On, so we have our doubts as to whether Sega would seriously consider releasing one for a downloadable game - even though we do prefer playing VOn with them.
Still, it looks like Sega hasn’t made up its just yet, so keep the faith, Sega fans.
