Heads up, Street Fighter fans: Capcom has announced that it will be adding a new mode to SFIV next week.
The new Championship mode is set to launch next Friday (and will be distributed as a free download through Xbox Live), and is geared towards the more serious player.
Principally, the mode will enable players to compete in five different grades of tournament, depending on what their skill level is. Anyone who wins a tournament will be rewarded with Grade Points, which in turn will make them eligible to enter other tournaments.
In addition, winning tournaments will also see you rewarded with Championship Points, which act as a form of prize money – although no mention was made of what, if anything, you’ll be able to use these points for.
A replay mode is also being added, which will allow you to download and watch the best replays, and use the input command feature to see what moves were being used.
It’ll be free to download, so you may as well check it out when it arrives on 24 April.
