Battlefield 3 storms UK charts

EA policy of getting Battlefield 3 out ahead of bitter rival Modern Warfare 3 looks to have paid some dividends, with DICE’s shooter storming straight to the top of the UK all-format charts for last week.
According to GfK Chart Track, Battlefield 3 has now become the “tenth biggest UK All Formats week-one seller (units) and ninth by revenue”. So it seems DICE is well deserving of a hearty pat on the back.
All this meant that last week’s top dog, Batman: Arkham City, was knocked down to second, while FIFA 12 made it two EA games in the top three.
Elsewhere, Forza 4 slid further down the charts from fourth to sixth, while Rage dropped to the foot of the table.
But if anything, it’s when you look outside of the top ten that things get interesting, with Pro Evo 2012 falling down to 11th place, Gears 3 to 14th place, and Kinect Sports: Season Two – the sequel to last year’s top-selling Kinect game – getting off to an underwhelming start in 18th.
