Although the Xbox 360 is home to a wonderful assortment of deep and hugely detailed games, sometimes it’s the simplicity of its Arcade titles that truly appeals. And this is none more relevant than in Awesomenauts; an arcade-style online shooter that takes the very basics of multiplayer gameplay and, despite some clear limitations, manages to create an oddly addictive little experience.

Part tower defence, part platform shooter, part multiplayer mayhem and all fun - this surprisingly little XBLA title might put the emphasis on online play, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a whirl. Ian Collen goes looking for intergalactic adventure and finds it in spades…
