Who, when confronted with the sight of a shambling, cannibalistic dead person, would have the poetic temerity to name the horror they saw before them a “shadow”? A developer attempting to create something new out of something old. A developer who has spent more time working on the doomy texture of its apocalyptic Eighties North American setting than it has spent wondering why games like this aren’t quite made this way any more.

When it turns out that being utterly bleak and somewhat depressing is a game's best point, you know there's something wrong. Martin Mathers braces himself for the zombie apocalypse but ends up facing a different kind of nightmare altogether...

Indie developer Tequila Works – a studio featuring creative talent from games such as Heavy Rain, Motorstorm, Diablo III and Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow – has announced Deadlight, a decidedly dark and atmospheric action-puzzler for Xbox Live Arcade.
