It's a jam-packed week on Xbox Live Arcade if you like discounts, but a pretty quiet one if you want new XBLA games. Still, when this week's only arrival is a brand-new Sonic game, you can hardly complain… well, unless you don't like Sonic, that is. Thank god we do!

Another day, another daily discount deal for you to buy - this time, it's one for fans of Gears Of War 3. Not that there's much to interest you, of course, since the chances of you already having everything on offer is pretty high. Plus, really expensive guns skins! And let's face it, who can live without those?

Rockstar steps into the discount breach today, with a whole heap of Red Dead Redemption content - including the full game! - seeing its prices slashed for the daily Countdown To 2012 deal. No beating around the bush today; it's already well into the afternoon, which means you've already lost half your chance to pick up Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online for half price. Best get a move on if you want to get yourself a real bargain... it's a one-day deal, so move fast or it'll be GAME OVER.

Don't believe the dashboard blurb that says today's daily deal focuses on fighting games - it's really only about one game today, with a side-order of average. Still, if you've got Mortal Kombat and feel like adding four more faces to the roster, you're in luck...

People who haven't already bought all the DLC for either Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas, rejoice - today's special discount is for you! And only you, it would seem, since there's not much point blowing Microsoft Points on something you can't use. Oh well.

Okay, so maybe yesterday's treat of Bastion was really only given in order to make us feel better about today's discounted offering… if only because it's a bit rubbish. Hole In The Wall? Really? Well, at least there's the added bonus of Leedmees getting discounted too, so that's something we suppose.
