In an interesting move (although not all that unexpected given its love of DLC and micro-transactions these days), Electronic Arts has confirmed that the next FIFA game, UEFA Euro 2012, will a downloadable expansion for FIFA '12 rather than a full-price disc release. Maybe that means people might actually buy it this time around?

It's not out until this Friday, but two key members of Capcom's fighting staff – namely, producer Yoshinori Ono and community manager Seth Killian – have confirmed that the 12 characters currently missing from the Xbox 360 roster of Street Fighter X Tekken will eventually appear as downloadable content. Boot up Gotham City Impostors today and you'll get a pleasant surprise: free downloadable content. That's because Monolith has now released the first package of DLC for the game, with a slew of bonuses for anyone still playing. And the best bit? Xbox 360 players get it exclusively for now, while PC and PS3 owners are still waiting. Ha!

Call of Duty Elite members on Xbox Live will be pleased to hear that Infinity Ward has announced details of the next downloadable map, Overwatch, set to be released 21 February. The map sees players duke it out in a construction site on top of a New York City skyscraper, with a very real chance of falling to your death. As if you needed any more distractions from those damn quickscopers…

Then you may want to check out Add-On section of the Xbox Live Marketplace, which has suddenly been overrun with around 100 pieces of downloadable content that Warner Bros released ahead of its launch. Continuing its ongoing barrage of content for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, THQ has announced that the new Dreadnought DLC - featuring an all-new multiplayer game mode – will be coming out next week, 25 January. And yes, the name does mean it'll contain a giant stomping robot of death. Because, you know, you can never too many of those.

Deep Silver has announced that there's fresh DLC coming on 1 February for its gruesome zombie RPG, Dead Island. Granted, that's hardly news considering that we already knew that a few weeks back, but now we have more details of its name, a price and, most importantly, the content of the DLC.
