You have to give EA Canada credit. Where the developer could easily rest on its laurels and knock out the tame FIFA updates of old for a couple of seasons – and still deliver a great game – instead it continues to innovate and develop the series to even greater levels. And to echo the point we made in issue 99, it’s now getting to the point where we can only be critical because it isn’t absolutely perfect.

It's a bit of a weird update to Xbox Live Arcade today, since it's hard to know who this week's games are appealing to. On one hand, there's the Kinect-only Diabolical Pitch and on the other, there's a pinball game based on real-life tables. So, unless you've got Kinect or love a spot of pinball… well, you're bang out of luck. Sorry.

In an interesting move (although not all that unexpected given its love of DLC and micro-transactions these days), Electronic Arts has confirmed that the next FIFA game, UEFA Euro 2012, will a downloadable expansion for FIFA '12 rather than a full-price disc release. Maybe that means people might actually buy it this time around?
