Overkill Software's highly anticipated heist sequel Payday 2 is now ALSO getting a full retail release after being deemed "just too big" for XBLA. So, is this a genuine opportunity for extra content or just a cheap excuse to charge £40 for the pleasure?

The GoldenEye licence has been quite the hussy since exploding on the Nintendo 64 in 1997. After Rare’s original FPS classic, EA bent the brand over and pumped out the awful Rogue Agent, after it had already jumped into bed with Sega for a pinball conversion and then spread its legs for the modding community’s GoldenEye: Source.

Has Sega's games archive sprung a leak of something? With 12 classic games updated for Xbox Live Arcade arriving in the last two weeks, we're thinking they might finally be capitalising on having such a huge back catalogue of awesomeness. Plus, Ubisoft's Mad Riders is here, along with a huge amount of discounts for Popcap titles and two fairly decent new Games On Demand.

It may sound too good to be true, but the facts don't lie: anyone with a Silver Xbox Live account who downloads the Mass Effect 3 demo on 14 February will find that they've been upgraded to Gold status. Of course, there's a catch in that it only lasts for a short period of time, but it's better than a kick to the scrotum by Commander Shepard...
