With the first official details on the next generation of consoles imminent, developers are predicting that Free-to-Play gaming could be at the heart of the business model for both Microsoft and Sony.

The latest harvest reaped from next-gen rumour mill is suggesting that Microsoft is planning on joining Sony in using activision codes on all Xbox 720 (or whatever) games. Doubled up with an 'always-on' internet connection required to access the console, this could just about kill the popular used/preowned games market as we know it.

Industry sources have said that gamers may have to wait until 2014 until they see the next Xbox or PlayStation console – despite the fact that Nintendo is hotly tipped to announce the Wii’s replacement at E3.
