With the release of Binary Domain just around the corner, Sega's decision to put a demo on Xbox Live for all Gold subscribers to enjoy is a wise one as it lets you see what's otherwise been a fairly off-the-radar title so far. The demo lets players take on two action packed stages, testing out a wide range of weapons and scenarios; as you'll see in the videos below, it's quite tough too and our expert gamers even died a few times in the demo, since no rock was left unturned.
The first stage sees Dom and his player-picked squad battling through a war-torn city while they try to find their Japanese contact (although the game decides to leave it in mystery as to why you’re trying to find him). Your squad consists of three addition team mates ranging from heavy weapons to recon-like load outs, but it's up to you to choose which you take. Of course we chose Heavy since explosions make everything better. And as you'll see from the video, the stage ends when Dom tries to ride an enormous robot before shooting it in the back.
The second stage is even more action-packed than the first and ends on a major cliff hanger. You’ll find yourself and the squad battling through an underground train station trying to escape the facility; diving from cover to cover, dying repeatedly and having the AI-controller squad walking in front of you as you try to fend off the robot hordes. Exciting stuff, we're sure you'll agree. But is it any good? You'll have to check out the next issue of 360 Gamer to find out…
