THQ this morning confirmed that racing title GTR, from SimBin will no longer be published by the company. Announced for Xbox 360 in May last year, GTR is an official FIA GT license holder, allowing the developer to simulate full FIA GT championships.
In a response from THQ, a spokesperson commented: "THQ and SimBin are no longer working together on the GTR Xbox 360 videogame. Our focus within the racing genre is continuing to build THQ's internally developed Stuntman, Juiced and MX franchises."
SimBin's website still lists the game for Xbox 360, although this hasn't been updated in a while. The question now is whether GTR will ever make it onto 360 through another publisher, or if indeed as thought, the game hasn't just stalled, but retired completely.
THQ has no cause for concearn though, as our exclusive preview of Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights back in March showed. Already looking beautiful and featuring more of the same roaring action of the original, you could see how with brands like Juiced, MX and Stuntman, the driving genre is firmly ticked on THQ's must have list.
